Don Bosco Eco Concerns: A Ten point Green Programme towards Green Lifestyle
Tiruchy, May. 2. Don Bosco Eco Concerns, a 10 point green programme, was inaugurated to educate and empower the young people to protect and nurture earth. The initiative is aimed at creating green lifestyle in all Don Bosco Institutions, in their neighbourhood and the society at large, by committing to the 10 practices. Father Vaclav Klement (Regional Councillor for East Asia - Oceania) inaugurated the initiative at the conclusion of the Extraordinary Visitation of the Salesian Province of Tiruchy.
Father Albert Johnson, Provincial, gave an introductory message stating the importance of making a firm decision to protect our common home through these green practices. Father Ricopar Royan, Executive Director of Cauveri Development Office, presented the concept and methodology of implementation of the Programme. Father Antony Joseph, Father Daniel Sebastian and Father Joe Augustine shared their personal experience of executing few green initiatives in their houses and proposed methods of taking it forward to children, youth and community. Various herbal plants and organic food products were also exhibited on the occasion.
