As part of the three day Swachh (clean) Hyderabad campaign launched and organized by the government of Telangana, the whole of Hyderabad was divided into different circles with an IAS officer as a nodal officer and people's representatives of their respective constitutions or areas taking active part in this programme to encourage and educate the public to keep the public areas clean and green.

On the third day of the programme i.e., 20th May 2015, the respected minister visited the area where our home is located, Bazarghat. During his 20 minute interaction with the children, he was very much friendly. Since we are having only summer camp for the elementary school level students, there were about 35 children.

The Honourable Minister asked one of the children to explain the daily activities of the home. Master Sai quickly explained the daily programme. He also asked the children how  they reached Don Bosco Navajeevan home, and all of them said that they ran away from home because of the poverty and their aim is to continue studies. The Minister was delighted to hear the children say that they are well taken care of and happy to be at Navajeevan.

We also appealed to him for the needs of the institution. Water is one of the main concerns that the institution is facing immediately. We made a request to sanction a borewell for the institution. Another request we made to him was to sanction a transport vehicle for children to go to school and secure provisions for the requirements of the home. He was concerned and asked the IAS officer to look into the request made by us.

Sr Victoria, the in-charge of Nampally home took special interest in meeting the officers and speaking to them, especially of the requirements of the home. As the Minister was leaving the home, Fr Bellamkonda Sudhakar, Director thanked the Union Minster and all the other Government officials for visiting Don Bosco Navajeevan home and blessing the children with their presence.
